The Music  remains the epicenter of the Saint, the backdrop for the drama that played out on the stage under the great dome.

The club became a venue in which one could hear the most beautiful of dance sounds from the booth as well as electrifying live performances. DJ's at the Saint  became legends, playing imaginative and artful mixes of disco classics from the seventies along with current High NRG dance hits.

While other clubs pandered to whatever was the dance craze of the moment in an interest in attracting and preserving cash flow, The Saint  held fast to beautiful dance music and did not fall prey to clichéd genres of music at a time when soothsayers were proclaiming the demise of disco

It was in the fall of 1980  that a new chapter was added to dance history: a phenomenal architectural creation and a landmark that would soon prove to be an internationally-renowned entertainment classic, attracting people from all walks of life, catering predominantly to the gay-lesbian community..

The opening of the Saint, on the former site of the"Fillmore East" on New York's lower East Side, was the culmination of meticulous planning and over $5 million ofinvestment in concrete, glass, marble and steel, not to mention the dreams and creativity that brought this concept into reality.

.The Saint made an impact on the lives of many of its members and became, over a ten-year period, a mecca for people within the community seeking a place to join together on a stage that added intensity, pleasure, and, for some, a focus in life.

But like any successful club venue, what made the Saint click was the magic resulting from a fusion of great design, stunning lighting and sound, and thesupport of the community that brought the energy that made it all happen.

Shortly after its opening, it became clear that the Saint was destined to become a legend in its own time. The compelling interior of the Saint was nothing short of a masterpiece....Dancing at the Saint for many became not only a treasured part of their weekly lives, but something more akin to ajoyous, spiritual experience. The Saint was not an early night club....many guests arrived at 2 or 3 AM, with the night reaching crescendos in the wee hours of morning and continuing 'til noon the following day.The final Saint party lasted two days. Specialty, theme evenings...such as the Black and White Parties became trademarks of the club, and continue to thrive in other venues worldwide.
